Breakfast at Green Dragon House
Breakfast can be served at a time to suit you (but no later than 10am please)
If you are having a cooked breakfast, we do ask that you kindly choose from the breakfast menu the evening before, so that we are able to prepare exactly what you’d like, at the time you would like it. Sustainability is very important to us, so this helps enormously with our aims to reduce the waste of high quality, fresh produce. Here is a sample of our current breakfast menu;
On the sideboard
A range of cereals – including a gluten free option
A choice of fruit and organic natural yoghurt
Selection of fresh fruit
Dried fruits and nuts e.g. Medjool dates, apricots etc.
Brown and white toast
Homemade preserves, local honey, Marmite and spreads
A selection of teas, fruit infusions, freshly made coffee or hot chocolate
Fresh fruit juice
Fresh butter and organic milk (non-dairy milk alternatives are available on request)
We also offer the following delicious freshly prepared options (please order the night before)
Our cooked breakfast – sausages, dry-cured smoked bacon and local free-range eggs from our favourite butchers in Colyton, served with baked beans, mushrooms, grilled tomato and sautéed potatoes (griddled haloumi can be served as a vegetarian option)
French omelette – freshly cooked with free-range eggs and a choice of fillings
Smoked salmon served with toasted bagels, cream cheese and capers – with scrambled free-range eggs on the side as an option
French toast with fruit compote and natural organic yoghurt
Just fancy a bacon butty? Or scrambled eggs on toast? If you’d like a variation of any of the above breakfast options, please just let us know when you place your order, and we’ll be happy to oblige.

Le Pisani – Church Street, Axminster, Devon, EX13 5NX, 01297 631697 (closed on Sunday evenings and all day Monday)
Le Pisani is a popular local Mediterranean restaurant, with an emphasis on all things Italian – specials often include fresh, locally sourced seafood.
Axminster also has an Indian and a Chinese restaurant – Cinnamons and Golden House – both of which are open 7 days a week, and are just a short walk from Green Dragon House. Our favourite local pub, the Axminster Inn, serve simple traditional pub food all week, and of course some lovely local ales!
And finally, not exactly a place to eat, but if you’re in Axminster on a Thursday morning, you must take a stroll around the local weekly market in Trinity Square – you’ll find lots of fantastic produce on offer, and a lovely bustling atmosphere.
